REACTION TO BARAKA

The scene I chose was showed at the beginning. It was about the landscape is cover by snow. This scene remained me the meaning of life. If we want to survive,we must be strong and over come the hard time. At the first time, I felt really sad because all of the trees trade off one of their part-leaves to get through the winter. After that, I felt better because I know they will be back when the spring comes. This scene also teach me that "be strong with whatever I face". If trees can find their way to survive, I can find my own way to succeed and get ahead in life.

RESEARCH PAPER ABSTRACT

Apple is the only firm which has stood on the top of computer companies for a decade. Apple always piques our curiosity by its announcements, especially the one in 1985. They fired Steve Jobs who was one of the founders of Apple Inc. This decision is a fascinating story so far. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to figure out the reasons led Jobs chasing out of Apple Inc. in 1985 and why Apple will be growing in the future. Moreover, it also provides the effects made by this event so that people can find out a judgment for this controversial decision.

I'm writing this letter because it could be too impolite and unrespected if I talk to you face to face. I want to discuss about my project.You said that I just graduated from my University so I did not have enough experience to run it. Admittedly, I just graduated four months ago, but it did not mean that i did not have ability to succeed. First, base on what you said, it meant that you have wasted all your money because you sent me to one of the best universities in Vietnam and I got nothing there. Next, you should look at my grade. It's good enough to make you believe in me. Moreover, by the time I was a student, I was helping you to run our business. It helped me a lot such as gathering information and earning experience.

 US citizens have criticized the FED's actions and policy, but the chairman of FED,Ben Bernanke disputed all the view by many reasons. First, FED fund money to save American International Group Inc, help to sell Bear Stearns. Second, FED tried their best to prevent the worst situation in the future. Finally, he mentioned that it was the suitable time to invest because of low interest rate.

Linzmayer, O. W. (1999). Apple confidential: The real story of Apple Computer, Inc. San Francisco, Calif: No Starch Press.
This book was written by Owen W. Linzmayer. I use this book because it gives me so much confidential information about Apple Inc and Steve Jobs. First, from page 51 to 63: the information how great Xerox and Macintosh systems are. Second, from page 167 to 179: they give me information what did Steve do after he got fired from Apple Inc. I will use those information for my research.

Research Question

If i could be anyone in the world, I wanna be Steve Jobs. He is my favorite businessman and he has significantly affected in the world technology. Unfortunately, he got fired from the company he founded, Apple Inc. In my research, I will research to find out this decision from Apple board directors is a good or terrible decision. After i finish my research, it can answer 3 questions
1/ How did this decision affect the world technology?
2/ Was it good for Steve?
3/ Was it good for Apple Inc?

My best advice

The most horrible time I had experienced was the time I did my thesis. I had a huge trouble with it and thought that I could not finish it on time. I came to my supervisor office and had a conversation with him. He said that “why don’t I stop doing my thesis for a while”. He must be kidding me because I just had three weeks left. I thought I never follow his advice. He knew I was shock and then he asked me “what does STOP mean, Linh”. I was definitely sure to say that “STOP” means to quit doing something. He was laughing while he heard that. However, he gave me the best definition of “stop” I had ever heard. STOP is stands for Stuck,Think,Observe, Plan. When we stuck with something, think about it carefully, observe what we have done already, and plan new strategy.

That was the best advice I was given.

TRADITIONAL AMERICAN FOOD

When my friends ask me “let’s go eat American”, I always think that they ask me “let’s eat HAMBURGER”. I know that fast food is not only traditional American food, but other kinds of American food are under fast food’s shadow. Fast food is omnipresent because it is convenient and cheap. During the first time I came to USA, I ate fast food more than four times a week. But now I cannot try it anymore.

Admittedly, there were three main reasons that make fast food to become more famous. First, due to industrial revolution, we don’t have time to cook so that we just go out for lunch/dinner. Next, our parents buy more and more prepared-food which we could buy easily at Costco, Wal-Mart, etc. Moreover, our parents just pass on ordering skill instead of cooking skill.

OPTIMISTIC QUOTE

"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." said Winston Churchill. This quote means that there are two slides of a coin and pro/coin is depends on who you are. Admittedly, I agree with this quote. Be strong when we have a trouble and be always a optimist guy. We can succeed when we think we are going to be. One of the keys helping us to achieve your dream easier is to set up our goal and never doubt about it. For example, as the first few days in the US, i used to think that i could not survive her because i have no one by my side. However, everything gets better now. I have many friends and enjoy the life here.
If we think we can, we can... my friends. Try our best ^_^

BIRDS OF THE FEATHERS

Vietnamese has a saying that "tell me who your friends are, i well tell you who you are". This saying is similar to the saying "birds of the feathers flock together". Although these saying are the common though, they are not correct for my condition. I have a close friend who is totally different form me. First, it is habit. I usually hit my bed when I'm sad, while he usually goes to gym. Next, it is personalities. I am extroverted but he is introverted. This is one of the reasons why we are best friend. He always listens and cheer me up. I wonder if both of us are extroverted, who will be the listening guy. The last one is the eating behavior. Though, i love the core of breads but he rarely eats them.
Once a best friend, forever a best friend. Love what you have.

LET'S THINK OUT OF THE BOX

I still believe that animals could talk. Let's "think out of the box". Maybe animals are laughing at us because we are so stupid and we can not understand what they are talking. One day, when a scientist invents a new language which can use to communicate with animals, we can talk to them. If that day comes. I'm not only ask them some questions but also hire them to work for me.

Animals have good senses to predict tsunamis or earthquakes. Before natural disasters come, "my workers" usually know it, then they move to a safe place. So the first question is "when will natural disaster come"

We can hire them to discover the world oceans.With all technologies scientists have so far, they can not reach "Mariana trench" which is the deepest part of the world oceans. Then the second question is " what are under the world oceans"

I'm sorry because this is Vietnamese song and maybe you could not understand it. However, you can guess  what they are saying by watching the pictures in the video. I really love the lyric of this song. It talks about your real life, what you are going through when you was a child until now. When i heard it at the first time, OMG, I cried and I called my mom immediately.

WEATHER

There are 3 seasons in Vietnam which are hot, hotter,and hottest season. It sounds funny but it's true.The climate's not only hot but also humid. If you wanna tan your skin, that service is free in my country. All things you need to do are to wear a T shirt, a short and to walk around. After a half of hour, your skin will be tan. LOL. I am really hate that kind of weather because I can only wear T-shirts and jeans. Once time i tried to wear a jacket but my body,it was totally wet after 5 minutes. It looked like i just took a shower.
In contrast, i really enjoy the weather here, in California. there are 4 seasons in one day. Spring is in the morning.  Summer is at noon. Fall is in the evening, and winter is at night. 

The most terrible animal in this world

Every people has a fear or even a phobia. People usually afraid of snacks or insects. For me, the most terrible and dangerous animal in this world are "CHICKENS". That sounds crazy but it is absolutely true. There is a story behind that fear. When i was 6 years old, i was running  around my backyard and playing with my grandfather. Suddenly i fell down and stepped on chickens. When i stood up, i saw their brand, their innards. Moreover, their blood was stick on my body. OMG.. i ran to the bathroom immediately and i took a shower more than an hour. i washed my whole body with  body wash gel until my skin was blooding. i just got out of the bathroom when my mom said "it will be OK, don't worry". That was the most terrible time in my life. Since that day, i never touch chickens.

NEW YEAR RESOLUTION

There are two crucial new year resolutions in this year.First, I should get 570 scores in TOEFL. It's easy to get this score for some students, but me . I should study hard double or even four times more than other students. Another new year resolution is to pass GMAT. GMAT has many sections such as writing, reading. math, etc. The section that i scare most is reading. In this section, GMAT founders use many high vocabularies which are even new vocabulary for native speakers. These are my two important goal in this year. These sound impossible but i will never give up. If we think we can, we can YEAPPPP

Who is Linh ?

Hi everyone, I’m Linh and I come from Ho Chi Minh city, which is the most dynamic city in Vietnam.

I have many hobbies. First, I love badminton and I can play it whole day. I used to play with my friends in the weekend. Second, I love watching action movies when I have free time. My favorite actor is Brat Pit and I have not missed any film of him. Have you ever seen “Troy”? This is my favorite film. I have watched it a thousand times because main character in this film has same personalities as me.

Obviously, I’m an extroverted person. I love to talk with my friends. I’m always by their side when they have trouble. However, I love to be alone to watching film or listening to music when I’m sad. That is weird, isn’t it?
